Application Deadline

UPDATE: Applications for Summer 2019 closed on March 15th and the fiction and nonfiction workshops are both now full. Be sure to apply next year!

When will I know if I've been accepted to the workshop?

We cap our workshop participation at 10 fiction writers and 10 nonfiction writers for the week. Our goal is to provide an intimate, rigorous workshop environment so that participants can come to Paris and find meaningful connections and excellent feedback on their work. We will accept applicants on a rolling basis until each cohort is full and then begin waitlists. Due to the volume of applications and competitive acceptance, writers are encouraged to apply early. We employ a reading committee of professional writers and editors, and applicants will be notified 15-30 days after an application is submitted.

How much does it cost?

Tuition is $3,250.00.

What does tuition include?

  • Lodging at Hotel Belloy for 6 days, 5 nights

  • A welcome cocktail party with faculty

  • Daily included breakfast

  • 4-day writing workshops in small groups of no more than 10, led by program faculty

  • Critical feedback on two writing submissions

  • Several craft of writing and/or business of writing seminars

  • One-on-one conference with faculty

  • A literary walking tour of Paris and other informal evening activities.

  • One-year complimentary subscription to Carve

What is tuition payment schedule?

If your application is accepted, you will have 7 days to submit a $300 nonrefundable deposit that goes toward your tuition fee of $3250. The remaining balance is due by April 1, 2019. There are no refunds of tuition after April 1, 2019, and applications accepted after this date require the full tuition immediately.

Early Bird Deadline: Applications received prior to February 1 are entitled to an early bird discount. The full tuition will be $2995 if paid in full within 7 days of application acceptance.

Where is the hotel and workshop venue?

Immerse yourself in both comfort and inspiration for 6 days, 5 nights at the Hotel Belloy. The 4-star hotel sits in the heart of literary Paris, near booksellers and publishing houses, and is a short walk from the Jardin du Luxembourg. Daily breakfast and free Wi-Fi included.

How late can I apply?

UPDATE: Fiction applications closed on March 15th, BUT Nonfiction applications are still open. Nonfiction writers: apply today!

We accept applications on a rolling basis, and we anticipate both workshops will be full by April 1, 2019, when tuition is due. Should each class reach capacity, we will post a notice on the website and begin a waitlist. Applications will continue to be reviewed, and applicants will be notified if put on the waitlist. Full tuition is due immediately if application accepted after April 1, 2019.
